The Moth Radio Response

I though the story was good because it's a realistic situation, and happens alot. I was about racial profiling and i think that the story was a good example of it.When the officer spoke to Noah and Cleveland there was a big difference, the officer sounded more stern and kind of harsh when he spoke to Cleveland, and was really nice to Noah, I think he was so rude to Cleveland because he was African American and pulled him over not because he was riding a bike without a helmet but because he had a white person with him, i don't even think it mattered to the officers that Noah was a little boy, i think it was just the fact that he was white.

Cleveland and Noah spoke to the police officers in very different tones, Noah seemed to be kind of scared and Cleveland sounded like he just wanted it to be over and done with. I think that the officer believed Cleveland when he said Noah was his girlfriends son, but he just kept him their and kept asking him questions because he just wanted to give him a hard time

I think ms. Edward choose this story because it has to do with to kill a mockingbird, its similar to, to kill a mockingbird because the man being accused of rape, tom Robinson, was also African American and was blamed for something he didn't do. they were trying t convict him of raping a woman he did some work for, and i think that related to the story of Noah and Cleveland because at one point  Noah had mentioned that the police had come into his house to take Cleveland away because someone had said Cleveland had raped his mom. in both story's both men had been accused of things they didn't do because of the color of their skin and i think Ms. Edwards choose this story to show our class that there is still racism to this day and that what happened to Tom Robinson and Cleveland isn't much different very different.

OF MICE AND MEN REVIEW !

I thought the movie OF MICE AND MEN was really good, I really liked how George and Lennie were such good friends and how George stood by him and tryed to get him out of bad situations like in weed when LENNIE WAS BOTHERING THE GIRL IN THE DRESS, George didn't have to runaway with Lennie, he could've let the police handle it and just went on and lived his life, but instead he runaway with him because he didn't want anything to happen to him, and I think that really shows what kind of friend George is even though he always told him how great his life could be if he wasn't around, you still no that he actually cared.
Even though I like the movie I didn't like how John Steinbeck made Curley's wife seem
S-L-U-T-T-Y because I don't think she was, she was still very young and maybe flirtatious but not a s-l-u-t, I felt bad for her because everyone judged her and Curley was very controlling and she was just cooped up in the house and wasn't allowed to talk to anyone, and on top of all of that she DIED WHEN SHE  WAS 15, right after she confided in Lennie about how lonely and sad she was, so I don't think she  should've been judged so harshly.
I like that their was alot of description in the book they didn't include every thing that was in the book in the movie which could've made a difference, like towards the end when Lennie accidentally killed Curley's wife and Candy calls George in they didn't put in the part when Candy was asking about if they could still get the ranch, or when Candy gets upset and calls Curley's wife's dead body a " good damn tramp" when he got upset that they couldn't get the ranch. I think those small details mattered.I also didn't like that THEY DIDNT GIVE CURLEY'S WIFE A NAME she was just a part of the book as any of the other characters.
I liked that the book was so descriptive that you could visualize what they were saying, I don't like the books ending though because after George shoots Lennie we don't know what happens with George or how like is after that happens and what happens with Curley.

R.I.P Lennie !

I can honestly say that because of what happened with Curley's wife that shooting Lennie was the best decision for George even though he was his friend because if curly had found him first then Lennie would've died a  slow painful death but instead George made if fast, another reason is because if the police came Lennie would've been lynched or sent to jail which would be very hard for him because he was mentally disabled and at that time people were very harsh on them.

I think shooting Lennie was Georges only choice, and if anyone was to kill him it should be his friend, I think a good example is when candy said he should have shot his dog instead of letting a stranger do it, it applies to this topic because if George didn't do it  a stranger would've. I know it was still hard for him because Lennie was his friend and they went everywhere together so losing his only friend must've been hard.

Is Killing An Animal Okay ?

I think that Candy's dog was suffering because it really old, could barley walk or see,and on top of that didn't really have any teeth so it had to be feed milk,so  it should have been humanely euthanized or put to sleep, so yes i think that Carlson shooting the dog was okay, but the dog was almost like the only thing candy really had, and the way Carlson was being very PUSHY towards Candy to kill the dog when Candy wasn't ready to let go WASN'T RIGHT and he kept saying negative things about it too, I think Carlson should've waited until Candy was ready to shoot his dog.But at the end it was the best thing for the dog, even though Candy should've shot him.I have to say that killing a dog or any animal is okay to me depending on the situation if theres an  animal really suffering,or out of control like a PDA(Potentially Dangerous Animal) then yea they should be put to sleep, but I think the best way would be by euthanizing them, but just killing an animal I don't think is right at all.

SCHOOL!

Okay so school, its not that bad, just really boring. I can honestly say Blair better than my middle school even though its a zoo!
At TPMS there were so many rules it felt like prison, and you got in trouble for everything!
Teachers treated you like babies, and wouldn't stop talking about how when we get to high school we cant do this or that, but so far they've been WRONG!
But just because high schools better than middle school doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with it, like the phone rule. if we can use our phones during lunch why cant we use it in the hallways?, because its still lunch time. I thought it was hard waking up at 6am last year. til I had to get up at 5, and feel like sleeping in class.
One thing i cant stand are(dramatic pause)THIEVES last year people always use to find out their things were missing, but this years even worse you cant even leave your stuff when you go to the bathroom and if you do don't expect to find it when you get back(exaggerating).Another thing is that I feel alot of teacher don't trust you even just doing simple things.
I always hated filling out emergency cards because you have to put in all this personal information like ways to REACH YOUR PARENTS! I really hated my teachers calling or emailing  my mom because it just felt weird, I would get home and my mom would watch me for a while then all of a sudden ask " SO HOW ARE YOU DOING IN MATH?"  and in my head I'd be like (gasp!). but I always ending up just telling her because I rather her hear it from me so the next time a teacher called she'd expect it.
Lets be honest, if i could make up the school rules, or a perfect school their would be absolutely no learning! Which would end up really upsetting parents, so if I had to make a school that was my ideal school that included learning then it would be probably SIMILAR TO BLAIR because even though Blair isn't perfect, I agree with alot of the classroom rules, I would allow ONLY juniors and senors to leave the campus at lunch because freshman and sophomores are still kind of knew to the school and honestly there are alot of inmature kids. There would be only 4 school days a week, and school would start at 8:30 am and end at 3:45 pm ! even though we would get out late it would be okay cause school wouldn't til 8:30, there would be cameras EVERYWHERE! So if something happens or is stolen then it can be taken care of.
Everyone would get along, and there wouldnt be drama and dumb fights. But I do like that lunch is longer even if it is only by 15 minutes, and in the cafeteria they don't have to dismiss you to go to the lunch lines by table. The main thing i like is that not everyone is from the same middle school, and that some of the irritating people aren't around, so even though school can be alot sometimes it's not all bad(sometimes) :P.
